Formed in the mid 90's, resulting from the sudden split of Boston band Ten To Six, bassist Charlie Phillips and singer/songwriter Alex James Muscat called upon longtime friend and Psychoacoustic Underground drummer Tom Hargarten to join the group. With AJM taking on the guitar responsibilities, the SHRUG sound was born. Specifically in the song 'Waste' which fronted the bands original demo tape and was the first song to come from the collaboration. Soon to follow were a batch of AJM songs old and new, but a year of playing the San Francisco club scene proved the demise of the group in 1997.
